June is the start of Survivor Month for The BACKPACKERS!

Every week, BPs Marion and Heinz will give their insights about the game in this Survivor Zambales edition of Power Rankings. They will be joined by an anonymous ranker in the form of Matapang, the Lion. Every week they will analyze which castaway is in Power position and most likely win the game down to the castaway who they think will be in danger of getting voted out!

The BACKPACKERS do not have a scheduled official climb for the month of May, (to give way for SURVIVOR ZAMBALES: Backpackers versus Guests to be featured in June) but that does not mean that we won't have a taste of our beloved sport; at least for some of us. We got an invitation through BP Conts to guide a group of friends in Mt. Pico de Loro in Ternate, Cavite. The three BACKPACKERS Conts, Heinz and Ivan journeyed through that familiar trail all the way to the Parrot's Beak.

Just like mountain climbing, I've never thought of trying surfing when I was a li’l younger. I have never been that sporty type of girl. I didn't play volleyball or badminton or any kind of sports during my teenage years. I was more interested in arts and dancing and singing (ehem). But as I mature and explore the world, I came to realize that I’m missing a lot. So I've tried different kinds. And trying something new once in a while can give you a different kind of excitement. You’ll discover a different YOU.
