Everybody was undeniably blessed with ample amount of endurance that day. All we needed after seven to eight hours of trekking, and soon as we have reached the "sitio", was a short rest. After that, every one was on his feet again, sorting out give-aways, repacking snacks, and preparing the school supplies that we were about to give to the pupils of Domolpos Community School. Perhaps, the strength which we had that day was sustained because of our great desire to help coupled with the thought that we must deliver so as not to put into waste KaEskwela's generosity.

The BACKPACKERS had no slated event for the long weekend covering Bonifacio Day but it did not mean that it will stop them from individually enjoying the holiday. Ever since the President started altering holiday celebrations in the Philippines so that it can be moved close to a Saturday or Sunday, long weekend holidays became a thing everyone's excited for. But since Bonifacio Day fell exactly on a Friday, we did not need to wait for any long weekend announcements to start planning on an adventure.

THE ROAD TO MT. PULAG

It was a long four hour trip from Tuba, Benguet to the jumpoff point which is at the Ranger Station of Mt. Pulag National Park. But since we had several sidetrips, noone really endured the long ride. All spirits remained high and enthusiastic as we were just actually starting our Huling Hirit in Benguet. The visit to Mt. Sto Tomas and Mt. Cabuyao was somehow worth the time, money and effort already... and there's still a lot in store for us!

It was definitely an amazing experience to be on top of the great Mt. Pulag while realizing that we were literally higher than the sea of clouds.

Mt. Pulag is one of the most beautiful mountains in the country. Famous to both local and foreign mountaineers, it stands 2922 MASL making it the third highest mountain in the Philippine archipelago.

The Journey Begins...

We left Manila at exactly nine in the evening and reached the Summer capital of the Philippines at around three in the morning of the next day. As expected, it was cold in Baguio City, where a monster jeep waited for us.
