It was an early Sunday morning when we flew from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to Viral Airport in Catanduanes. It was a good flight for the three of us (me, Ivan, and Isabel). The weather was great and after just 45 minutes, we found ourselves already in one of the Island Provinces in Bicol, named Catanduanes.

Wasting no time, we immediately proceeded to our home for the next two days. We took a short trike trip, an hour van ride, and a quick habal-habal experience going to JoSurfInn in Puraran Beach.
JoSurfInn was good place to stay at when in Puraran Beach. I personally liked the fact that our place was a rice field far away from the rest of the rest houses. Because of that, it was extra quiet and more peaceful. Ate Jo, the owner was very friendly and extremely accommodating. Everything was passable - decent air-conditioned room, soft bed, clean toilet and bath and there's TV. Data signal was a challenge though, but totally not their fault.
We pretty much just relaxed on day one, looking at the relaxing view of the ocean almost the whole time, and swam to experience Puraran Beach in the afternoon.
Day two was jam packed.
We woke up very early and left our inn at 4:30 AM to enjoy an early morning at Binurong POint. Our habal-habal drove us to Brgy. Guinsaanan first, then we trekked to reach the actual view deck. Perhaps, right now, Binurong POint is the most visited view deck in Catanduanes. The view from there was magnificent! You'll have the Pacific Ocean in front of you while standing on either a huge rock or on a grassy slope that felt like Batanes. Fresh air and the playful wind were unlimited.
Next spot visited was Nahulugan Falls, which was accessible by habal-habal. The cold water plus the sound from the falls were very relaxing. And we especially enjoyed having lunch with our tour guide-drivers by the falls.
The challenging part was trekking again and walking along the beach under the sun, just to reach the Green Lagoon. But you know what (?), it was worth it! Green Lagoon did not disappoint. Too bad we did not bring snorkeling gears as small colorful school of fish were calling us to play with them; but we really enjoyed just floating on there.
In the afternoon we watched sunset from Balacay Point and played like kids on a grassy hill.
We checked out from JoSurfInn at 11:00 AM on our third day. We rented a trike that brought us to Mukha ni Hesus and Twin Rocks Beach Resort before proceeding to Lucky Hotel where we stayed a night in preparation for our flight back to Manila the following day.
We saw the perfect Mukha ni Hesus (Face of Jesus), a rock formation, from Talisoy Beach. Without a single doubt, it looked like Jesus' face in sideview.
Jumping from the diving board to actually experience Twin Rocks Beach Resort was what I did. We were told that the diving area is man-made, but it no worries, the beauty that surrounds it is legit!
Finally, we enjoyed the last hours of our vacation at the Lucky Hotel. Personally, it is one of the better provincial hotels we were able to stay at.
We flew back home with this thought in mind... Catanduanes is simply beautiful!
